LINA launched in 2021 with financial support from the Institute of Museum and Library Studies (IMLS), Grant RE-250026-OLS-21
LINA is aimed at reframing how librarians approach immigrant engagement by
✔ exploring immigrants’ information pressures in an increasingly hardline U.S. immigration environment
✔ distilling community-centered recommendations and assets for effective library engagement with communities
The purpose is to advance knowledge of immigrant well-being and acculturation with the goal of increasing libraries’ capacities to serve as trusted spaces.
